Road Trippin' (sp?)

It is amazing how I have become such a poor speller.  Honestly, this really wasn't the case a few *ahem* years ago............  And at work it is even worse.  I have seen ibuprofen spelled incorrectly so many times, now I have to double check each time I spell it.  Arrrgh

Anyway, it is time for a Road Trip.  K and I are going up to see the G's (grandparents) and S is going to spend some time with Dad.  I was sad about all of us not going together, but I think some alone time for both gals will be good.  S and I will take a trip later this summer, and K just got a job.  Yes, finally, after filling out thousands of applications, she got a part-part-time job.  Was this because of her hard work hitting the pavement?  No.  She had to learn a lesson the hard way.  Sometimes, it's just who ya know. K has a really good friend. This friend's dad owns a restaurant.  I, being the wise mother I am, told K (after not hearing from any of the applications she/we I filled out) she should ask if there are any openings. Well, finally, shy Miss K asked Mr M. Long story short - she starts training next week.  And oh the sacrifices have already begun.  K won't be able to spend the entire week with the G's, and the 4th of July? Hmmm.... not this year. Busy time of the year for tourists..............  So a few valuable lessons have been learned.  Work is not fun.  If it was, it wouldn't be called work.  :)   *go ahead, feel free to roll your eyes here.  My earlier audience did.

K has already requested several menu items............... I will have to let the G's know so they can start the grocery list!  I can't wait.  This time next year she will be getting ready for college and road trips/weekends at the G's won't happen so frequently.  So I'm gonna enjoy it while I can!  And start planning the next trip with S.  :)  Oh, how I love summer.

Wanna hear somthin' scary?

K asked me this the other day.  Of course, I answered "Yes!"

Her reply?

"I'm a Senior!!!"

Yep - definitely scary.  :)
